In this session we’ll take a closer look at the science behind great people management, to figure out how to bring these together and craft space for everyone to be awesome.

Usually when we say the word "empathy" there's an underlying "woo-woo let's talk feelings" undertone. Perhaps you think empathy is a waste of time; or maybe you think it's important, but you don't really understand how to apply the technique professionally.

Empathy is a tool you can use to understand what motivates your team; to spot blockers before they become a problem; and to get a "health check" on the projects you oversee.

When we talk about DevOps we often talk about culture as though it's a separate entity. James will discuss why this "objectification of culture" is part of the problem and shares stories of how organisations have successfully improved their working culture.
