caring about the quality of people’s or animal’s lives and trying to be kind to them

an animal that eats both plants and meat. An animal that only eats plants is called a herbivore and an animal that only eats meat is called a carnivore.

(texte en francais suivre)

Have you stopped eating meat (beef, pork, chicken) because of factory farming practices, or are uneasy about the source of the meat purchased at large grocery stores or even your local butcher? Did you know there are alternatives – that you can buy meat and eggs raised in a humane and sustainable manner?

This is not a forum to discuss the pro/cons of eating meat. The purpose of this Meetup group is to bring together those who believe that humans are natural omnivores, but who wish to consume products only from animals they know have been raised (and slaughtered) in a humane manner.

This meetup serves as a forum to exchange information as to where humanely raised and slaughtered meat products and sustainably-farmed (i.e. organic) fruit and vegetables can be purchased locally. Occasionally, a visit to a farm or orchard to purchase or see production might be organized.
