The Humanist Odyssey of the Mind teams will be posing their solutions to two of the five problems issued by Odyssey of the Mind International. The HSGP Division One Team is solving the structure problem called Tumblewood where they have built a balsa wood and glue structure weighing less than 15 grams that will hold hundreds of pounds of weight when tested. But first, the structure must roll down a team created ramp, fly through the air, pass a scoring line and then get to the tester box five feet away without the team touching it with their hands. They have created a skit that is very creative that ties testing the structure to their performance while they demonstrate teamwork and resourcefulness. They are schedule to perform at 11:20 am. Come and cheer them on. They will be in the South gym of the Physical Ed Building.

The HSGP Primary Team (our team of younger tykes) is solving the problem called Top Sea-crets Discovery. They have created a skit with a humorous sea captain, and sea explorers who discover an unusual secret under the sea. Their performance is scheduled for 10:40am. These performances last less than 8 minutes and can be seen in the Science Lecture building, room 116.

Odyssey of the Mind is a creative problem solving competition where teams of students are challenge to solve complex Science, Technology, Engineering and Math problems and present their solutions in an 8 minutes skit with costumes, props and backgrounds.

Other schools performances begin at 8:00 am and run through 2:30 pm. There is a problem where teams create a vehicle and a Pet Project. Technical teams have created a physical representation of how email works including spam filters and attachments. There is a problem where teams describe the social science of how behaviors can be normal in one situation and odd in another. These presentations go on all day, every 20 minutes. Awards assembly is at 4:00 pm.
