Details

Brian Calaway has led the HSGP Odyssey of the Mind team to regional and state championships. Brian will explain what the program is really all about and why we should continue to support our team.

Coach Brian Calaway with two of the HSGP team Regional and State Champions.

Brian participated in Odyssey of the Mind as a kid, coached by his mom Lorna, who continues to help coach Brian's teams. Brian also currently participates as a member of the Scottsdale Community College OOTM team. That team also won first place in Regional and State, and will also compete in World Finals in Ames, Iowa.

Brian's daughter Cienna is a member of the HSGP team (pictured above). That makes 3 generations going to World Finals together!

Doors open at 9:00am for optional breakfast ($5) and socializing.

The Humanist Society of Greater Phoenix presents its Sunday Speaker meetings twice a month on Sunday mornings.

We enjoy the company of our fellow Humanists and a lecture from a guest speaker and topic discussion ending by 11:30 a.m. Our meetings are free and open to anyone who is interested in learning more about Humanism.

Breakfast is offered for sale to members and guests for $5.00. For coffee only, the charge is $1.00. If you would like to have coffee and/or food, please pay at the welcome desk by the entrance door. Of course, donations are always gratefully accepted as well.

*Please note that being a member of this Meetup group does not mean that you are a member of the organization HSGP. Please consider becoming a dues-paying member of HSGP and supporting one of the largest non-theistic communities in Arizona. Membership entitles you to borrow from a large selection of books and DVDs (including DVD recordings of our Sunday Speaker presentations) from our Robert G. Ingersoll Library, and the privilege to vote for board members annually.

For your convenience, the membership desk is immediately behind the welcome desk at each Sunday meeting. Stop by to join or renew your membership in HSGP, or to update your records such as your email address.

Thank you! See you at the HSGP Community Center!
