HP Outing-Performance With a View: ASU Advanced Rhythm Ensemble

HSGP Humanities Project Outing:

Free morning performance in a beautiful setting!

Performance with a View, Tempe Center for the Arts

Arizona State University Advanced Rhythm Ensemble

Under the direction of ASU School of Music Faculty Associate Jacob Adler, the ASU Advanced Rhythm Ensemble performs exciting new compositions and improvisations. Using techniques derived from South Indian rhythm theory, the Ensemble explores a synthesis of Eastern and Western contemporary musical ideas.

Since February 2009, the Friends’ sponsored “Performance with A View” series has offered a free monthly event in the TCA Lakeside Room.

These informative, entertaining, and informal performances feature guest artists from a variety of artistic disciplines.

This community outreach series is open to Friends of TCA and to the public.  Coffee service begins at 9:30 a.m. and the program follows at 10 a.m.  Optional gallery and facility tours follow.

Performance with A View is FREE for all performances.

I loved it! The blend of Indian classical and western classical, presented in pieces that were innovative was wonderful! Lovely setting as well.
