Agree. This was my second discussion group on Jacoby's book Freethinkers, and there is just so much there, especially freethought history I'd never before been made aware of.

Really enjoyed the discussion yesterday. Very bright people and I appreciated the way Morris kept bringing us back from the brink of going down the proverbial "rabbit hole."

John is right about this month - FREETHINKERS: a History of American Secularism. We are on the last 3 chapters. The next book, however will be THE GOD ARGUMENT: The case Against Religion and for Humanism by A.C. Grayling. We are going to discuss the PROPHETIC WITNESS book by Paul Razor as a separated UCubed class in October.

This month we'll be finishing up Freethinkers: A History of American Secularism by Susan Jacoby; next month we start on Reclaiming Prophetic Witness: Liberal Religion in the Public Square by Paul Rasor.

I'll be out of town, but I'm looking forward to participating, perhaps in September.
