Monthly Planning Meeting & Social Event

This meeting happens the 2nd Monday of every month. Potluck: bring something to share or just bring yourself!

This month we're at the Rochambeau Library: 708 Hope Street Providence, RI 02906

Knit A Brick:

Help the Secular Coalition for America (SCA) in their Knit a Brick campaign - a response to the recent Hobby Lobby ruling. The SCA is collecting knit "bricks" (really, just simple flat rectangles) to make a "wall of separation" to send a message to the Supreme Court.

For more info see #knitabrick on pinterest or facebook

In addition to our regular agenda, we'll be collecting "bricks" & also knitting & crocheting bricks at this meetup. If you'd like to participate, bring a pre-made "brick", or bring yarn, knitting needles or crochet hooks.

Great to see everyone last night! Welcome to the new people! And thanks to all who knitted & crocheted for the SCA's Knit A Brick campaign. We collected 30 bricks, now on their way to DC!

I like the Knit a Brick idea. I just had an idea for a fallopian design using cable stitch. Have you seen the online satires of Hobby Lobby that show hand-knit condoms and other do-it-yourself solutions?

Great idea! Can you work that into a 6x3 inch rectangle? The SCA needs all of the to have the same dimensions.
