American lawmakers are crying “We’re Broke!” as they slash budgets, lay off schoolteachers, police, and firefighters, shredding our country’s social fabric and leaving many Americans scrambling to survive. Tonight’s film, “We’re Not Broke”, shows how multi-bullion dollar American corporations like Exxon, Google, Bank of America, and Apple make colossal profits and conceal them overseas to avoid paying US taxes. The film also tells the story of fed-up citizens who taking their frustration to the streets… to make corporations pay their fair share. For details, go to

Join us to become informed about and discuss proposals to close tax loopholes for wealthy corporations, add jobs programs, and make other changes to strengthen the US economy at the federal level and in Illinois. Dr. Ron Baiman from Chicago Political Economy Group (CPEG) will be joining us for discussion and to present proposals to eliminate pension under-funding in Illinois by closing six tax loopholes, a financial transaction tax, or a graduated income tax. We welcome active audience participation and all points of view.

Just Views shows great films about matters vital to social and economic justice on the second Friday of each month throughout the year.
