Bruce Trail Hike: Hockley Valley Provincial Nature Reserve
TIMING: 10:00 am, Saturday, December 3
DESCRIPTION: (11-14 km)
This is a beautiful hill & valley hike: the trail is undulating, crosses three bridges over a tributary of the Nottawasaga River; it passes through meadows, rolling woodlands, stands of conifers and cedars. From the valley floor to climbs where you can enjoy views of the valley and the ski hills of Hockley Valley Ski Resort.
We will hike two side trails (total 11 km) with an option of doing a third for an additional 3 km depending on weather and enthusiasm!
Bring a lunch, water (and a flask of something hot if you like). Wear hiking boots and bring a rain jacket. Layers are recommended.
Doreen Smith is a very experienced hiker on the Bruce Trail and many other pathways in our country & overseas, and a long-time HVHTA board member who has led many hikes for our members & guests.
DIRECTIONS:From Highway 9 turn north onto Airport Road. Drive 7 km to Hockley Road (also called #7), turn left (west), drive 6.3 km to the parking lot on the right (north) side of the road. Watch for it after 3rd Line EHS, just before 2nd Line EHS.
We will meet in parking lot.

POST-HIKE IDEA: We can have refreshments in Schomberg after the
