1826 W. McDowell Rd, Phoenix, AZ
This is the HUGE used book sale that you may have seen before on the news. Thousands upon thousands of Used Books fill the buildings of the Arizona State Fairgrounds. This year marks the 60th year of the VNSA Book Sale
Here's a video about a previous year's VNSA Sale:
Admission is Free but the fairgrounds does charge a parking fee (I'll add the $ amount when I get the info.)
Every penny that they make goes to local charities! Bring your own bags, shopping carts, etc...
Books are divided into categories: history, DIY, children's, textbooks, biography, business, classics, early 20th century fiction, modern fiction, etc. They even have a rare book room in a separate building.
Here's the plan: we'll meet up together in line to get in and then those wishing to gather together for an early lunch afterwards, we can share our treasures and experiences. It will be impossible to stay together during the sale, so no comments please about members splitting up during the sale, what books interest you might not interest everyone else and its going to be very busy inside.
I plan to make a wish list before the event of books that I'd like to get and go for those first, then do more exploring.
Open to suggestions for a place to gather for lunch after the sale. We can all share what books we found, etc.
