What we're about

The Hyperledger Foundation is an open source collaborative effort hosted by the Linux Foundation and created to advance cross-industry blockchain technologies. Participation is open to all.

Hyperledger Meetup groups have an informal relationship with Hyperledger, and make up a key part of the Hyperledger ecosystem. Participation in a Hyperledger Meetup group is open to anyone--employees of a Hyperledger member company, Hyperledger contributors and developers, and people just passionate about blockchain technology.

Using Hyperledger Besu to Participate in Public Ethereum Networks

Network event

Link visible for attendees

Matt Nelson, a Product Manager at ConsenSys, leads this technical workshop about how to operate the Hyperledger Besu Ethereum client on public networks and test nets and discusses staking and development using public infrastructure.

This workshop aims to outline the benefits and discuss the risks and nuances of participating in Ethereum public networks with Hyperledger Besu. Attend to learn about setting up Besu in an environment that can connect to other nodes correctly; how to think about staking Ether for rewards (and helping decentralize + secure Ethereum); and considerations and what to know when developing, testing, and deploying dapps on public networks.

The goal of this workshop is to come away feeling confident in the benefits and risks of using public infrastructure and to understand more about the future of Ethereum and Besu.

More about the workshop, including prerequisites to prepare for the session, is at:

Tokenization deep-dive

Network event

Link visible for attendees

In this lecture we try to deep-dive into the world of tokenization, beyond simple fungible and non-fungible tokens.
We will briefly cover the Token Taxonomy Framework and different advanced token types, like:
- hybrid NFT
- composable NFT
- Non-transferable tokens / crypto-badges
- Soulbound tokens (SBT)
- rentable NFT
- tokens with shared or partial ownership
- royalty tokens
- security token standards and initiatives
- tokenized stock
- tokens for recurring subscription models
- etc ..

Building Hyperledger Fabric Smart Contracts using Solidity and the EVM

Network event

Link visible for attendees

Join us for an online technical workshop that looks at how to build smart contracts for Hyperledger Fabric using Solidity and Fabric's Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM).

The workshop will be run by Jim Sullivan, Chief Technology Officer and Lead Instructor at The Blockchain Academy, and will cover the following topics:

  • Hyperledger Fabric product architecture, including the EVM/Solidity components.
  • Smart Contract Development demo
  • Solidity Smart Contract Examples
  • Why use the EVM for HyperLedger Fabric applications
  • Use Remix for building Smart Contracts
  • Solidity.
  • Data types.
  • Functions and Accessibility, i.e., public, private.
  • Deployment Demonstration
  • Distributed Application (DApp) demonstration
  • Possible Next Steps.

Workshop: Build Your Identity Solution Using Hyperledger Aries

Network event

Link visible for attendees

This workshop is a four hour online course that introduces the core concepts and principles of decentralized identity. As you progress, you’ll learn how to use the SelfServe and indyscan network tools, be introduced to the Indy Command Line Interface (Indy CLI) and install and run the Aries toolbox to create, issue, and verify a verifiable credential.

Topics include:

  • Decentralized identity concepts and principles
  • The verifiable credential data model
  • Decentralized identity ecosystem
  • Network tools indyscan and SelfServe
  • Intro to Indy CLI
  • What Hyperledger Aries is
  • Install and run Aries Toolbox
  • Create connections and issue a credential
  • How to verify credential

Details about how to prepare for this workshop are at:
