Happy New Year from all at Hyperledger Dublin. We have two exciting talks to kick off the new year with.

Ronan Guilfoyle, Principal Solutions Architect at Amazon Web Services will be talking about Amazon Managed Blockchain, a fully managed service that makes it easy to create and manage scalable blockchain networks using the popular open source frameworks Hyperledger Fabric and Ethereum. He will also introduce other related offerings such as Amazon Quantum Ledger Database (QLDB).

Jamie Smith from the Sovrin/Hyperledger Indy creators Evernym will be talking about the emergence of Self Sovereign Identity as a global movement, Sovrin as a global public utility, Indy as the open code base behind Sovrin, and Evernym’s journey towards making it real for people, organisations and things.


Ronan helps customers transform their IT architecture, allowing them to make the most of Cloud computing to improve their delivery of IT services. While technology is only a supporting act, getting it right allows customer to focus on their business and, most importantly, on their customers. As part of the AWS security field community, he also assists customers with security, governance and compliance in the cloud.

Jamie is Strategic Engagement Director at Evernym. Specialising in Self Sovereign Identity, personal data and privacy, he has over 15 years experience helping organisations explore and deploy new technologies to create new value for both customers and businesses. Evernym is the inventor of Sovrin, a new global public utility for digital identity. They help organisations and people all over the world to take advantage of self sovereign identity solutions, unleashing new powerful relationships with customers, consumers and citizens everywhere.
