Decentralized architectures are not new – when thinking about decentralized solutions built on architectures like blockchain, why haven’t they been adopted in the past to solve enterprise-level problems where there are clearly valid use cases? Bringing a consortium of often competing organizations together to solve a common problem is sticky. How does the goal justify organizations potentially sacrificing near term gains or revenue for greater long term opportunity? How do we, the solution creators, help solve these sticky problems? How do we determine and build in incentives for organizations to participate in competitive, typically permissioned, networks? We’ll explore these challenges across industries, starting with healthcare, and expand from there depending on audience background and discussion.
