What we're about

Hyperledger is an open source collaborative effort created to advance cross-industry blockchain technologies. It is a global collaboration, hosted by The Linux Foundation, including leaders in finance, banking, Internet of Things, supply chains, manufacturing and Technology.

Hyperledger Meetup groups have an informal relationship with Hyperledger, and make up a key part of the Hyperledger ecosystem. Participation in a Hyperledger Meetup group is open to anyone--employees of a Hyperledger member company, Hyperledger contributors and developers, and people just passionate about blockchain technology.

Approaches to Consortia Governance and Access Control in Hyper Ledger Fabric

Agenda: 6:00 to 6:30 pm - Guests Arrive, Refreshments and Networking 6:30 to 7:00 pm – Approaches to Consortia Governance and Access Control in HL Fabric Applications 7:00 to 7:30 pm – 2nd Talk, TBA 7:30 to 8:00 pm – Open floor for Q&A Speaker 1: Mark Rakhmilevich is Senior Director, Blockchain Product Management; he has worked with enterprises on distributed systems and transaction processing in banks, payments, telcos, insurance, and government for over 20 years. He currently works with Blockchain Cloud Service engineering in Oracle Middleware and PaaS Development to address the needs of enterprise customers and SI & ISV partners with scalable, secure, and managed cloud platform for deployment of enterprise-oriented blockchain networks. He helps guide customers and partners around the world in applying blockchain technology to a broad range of business challenges, supporting discovery and sharing best practices, deployment models, and integration architecture to facilitate rapid experimentation and production-ready results. Mark writes and frequently speaks at industry conferences on enterprise blockchain. Topic: Approaches to Consortia Governance and Access Control in HL Fabric Applications Abstract: As discussed at Hyperledger Global Forum in Basel, practical implications of bringing trading partners into a blockchain-based consortium where they share data and jointly manage the lifecycle of smart contract applications are daunting for many businesses. Who approves new members joining the network? How is chaincode deployment or upgrade are agreed by the members? The need to simplify these processes and automate them leveraging blockchain technology itself is quickly becoming apparent. Is it possible to implement governance policies with sufficient flexibility, while also automating the fundamentals through voting and other means? We’ll discuss practical customer use cases based on Hyperledger Fabric applications and how these issues were addressed. We’ll also cover how business confidentiality needs are met and access control integrations for fine-grained authorizations. Speaker 2 : Ranga Krishnan is VP Technology at Skuchain. He has been working with Hyperledger Fabric since its initial launch in 2016 and has run several developer education meetups including a four part course on Hyperledger Fabric in 2017. He has spoken at industry conferences of BAFT, ATFA, ICC Banking Commission, Cleantech Forum and IoT World to educate and advance the adoption of blockchain in enterprise and commerce.
