• Disintermediated (and intermediated) Finance on the Blockchain

What does blockchain mean for the future of the securities and commodities sectors? Do existing intermediaries have a place in a decentralised ecosystem? Hear two different industry use cases demonstrating how blockchain is being utilised to advance over-the-counter, peer-to-peer trading, while also being used to enhance the execution of traditional, centralised banking models, such as with a national settlements depository. Greg Skerry, Solutions Architect with the enterprise blockchain practice at Altoros, will review the business cases and development process around two projects their team has undertaken, both built on Hyperledger Fabric: * A modular and extensible over-the-counter ('OTC') asset trading platform * A digital asset issuance and transfer platform, originally built for the National Settlements Depository (part of the Moscow Exchange Group), and used in production for the issuance of commercial paper. Greg will provide live demonstrations of both platforms, and be available for additional Q&A. Agenda: - 6.00pm: Arrivals - 6.15pm: Welcome (presenter Cliff Huang) - 6.20pm: Sponsor introduction (presenter Ben Peterson from IBM Australia) - 6.30pm: Real blockchain business cases in the financial industry and demo (presenter Greg Skerry) - 7.30pm: Networking - 8.00pm: Event Close Organizer: Cliff HUANG is Blockchain consultant.
