Cards for Soldiers

Let’s brighten a soldier’s day by making greeting cards for soldiers!

No experience necessary! These cards will be handmade and blank inside so soldiers of deployed units will be able to write to family and friends. We'll make an assortment of holiday and birthday cards. $15 per person covers supplies.

Thank you for encouraging those who put their lives on the line on a daily basis!

How about YMCA in downtown? I will check my apartment complex to see if their business room can fit 20 people.

I know sometimes if Denny's or IHOP has the space available, they can make room for activities. Of course the trade off is to bring them business. I know some meetup groups have done that. Just depends on the turn out & it will also give the group exposure.

Thanks! I agree! I served 5 years in the Armed Forces myself so I know just how special this would be to receive during the holidays while away from loved ones! I can comfortably host a group of 15-20 at my house (Kingwood) but depending on how many are interested in participating we may need a bigger venue. Please let me know if anyone knows of a place with tables and chairs that we could use. Thanks!! Looking forward to making cards for soldiers with you!

This is a really good idea. I used to be big into penpaling & one year it was a recommendation to send cards to people in the armed forces who were out of pocket for the holidays. I wrote a bunch. some got returned & some didn't. I think it's a pretty nice thing to do & I know they do appreciate it.
