Clean Tech Open Innovation Summit

Cleantech Open’s 4th Annual Midwest Innovation Summit will take place on October 17, 2013, at the historic Depot Hotel and Conference Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This dynamic event unites industry professionals from various sectors across the Midwest’s diverse cleantech innovation market. The focus of the event will result in an audience that largely originates from our 13 state footprint. Each year a subset of attendees join from outside the region who are interested in following Midwest cleantech innovation trends.  This is a field trip for Innovators and Entrepreneurs of the Twin Cities.

The Innovation Summit provides a forum for various stakeholders to connect, learn and do business together on an annual basis. The core themes for the event are:

Innovation as a key driver of change and opportunity for the regionFostering connections across geographic barriersGathering the full spectrum of market players necessary for fostering cleantech innovations – including corporates, investors, civic leaders, the entrepreneurs, and other industry organizations.

The Innovation Summit will help you – a regional stakeholder – identify new resources for your organization, establish unique relationships, get a first glance at cutting-edge cleantech solutions, and learn from industry thought leaders. - See more at: http://www.midwestinnovationsummit.com/about-the-summit/#sthash.aBWNAfvn.dpuf

Registration is $165 for the whole day (registration opens at 8:15 am).  See there website to pre-register.  Exhibitors and sponsors have complementary tickets, so check out the sponsor and exhibitor lists and call them for a ticket (CoCo is one).  The conference is also seeking volunteers if you want to get in for free.

About the Meetup Group

Meet other entrepreneurs and independent product developers.   Bring your questions and "group-source" the answers.  Hear from specialized experts willing to share their insights.  Get energized and stay motivated to pursue your goals.  Relax and have interesting conversations.  Participants have found clients and collaborators through this Meetup.

Software, electronics, life sciences, med tech, services, products, materials, designs--innovators of a wide variety of value propositions participate. Both for-profit and non-profit entrepreneurs participate.  Many are starting their second or third business.  A partner in McKinsey & Company (NYC) turned up one evening. We have enjoyed meeting people from China, Korea, Saudi Arabia, Italy, India, Bangladesh and other countries.  Many are newcomers to Minneapolis/St. Paul.  Multi-generational, our age range has been 20 to 70+.  Several investors make periodic visits for those of you looking for capital.

RSVPs on the Meetup website don't include participants from our hosts personal email list and LinkedIn groups.  Many regulars just show up.  We don't cancel a meeting due to low RSVPs on Meetup.  Our largest attendance was about 20 people, but I've enjoyed smaller groups where I get to hear more from each person.

Let the host know what kind of expert you would like to have at a future meeting and feel free to refer speakers.

I have attended two of these summits and have been impressed with the panelists. Key people I wanted to reach at companies like 3M were there to meet. I find it energizing and great networking.
