Innovators and Entrepreneurs of MSP Message Board › On-line instructor in entrepreneurship and sustainability
MCAD is looking for an instructor for a 3-credit elective that will focus on helping MA students bring sustainable product and services to market through entrepreneurial training. The course will use the text Business Model Generation and follow the Business Model Canvas as key references. Students who take this course will be eligible for small prototyping scholarships.
I am seeking leads for a potential online instructor to develop and teach this new MA course. Ideally, the person will be an entrepreneur (perhaps even a serial entrepreneur) who has taken product concept(s) to market. This person needs to have an interest in and knowledge of sustainability, ideally both social and environmental sustainability. It would be great to find someone who has teaching experience or else experience mentoring people through the product development process.
The instructor will be sent to NCIIA's Lean Launch Pad Educators Program (3-day intensive workshop; all costs covered) to learn specifically how to integrate the text and framework mentioned above to a curriculum. Ideally they would be able to attend the workshop in September 2013. In addition, the instructor will be given training in online instruction through MCAD's Online Learning department in the form of a 5-week Online Course Development Workshop (in Spring 2014) and will be supported through the development process by the Online Learning department and myself. The instructor will be paid to develop the new online course for the MA in Spring 2014 (~$4,000) and will be paid to teach the 10-week course in Summer 2014 (~$4,000).
