you must be in good shape and be adventurous to come on this hike

what: hike to red, white and blue mine,

where: mt baldy rd just below first tunnel

when: april 2, 2011 at 9: a.m.

what to bring: plenty of water, good boots, headlamp, long pants and long sleeve shirt, lunch or snacks, gloves

distance: 2 miles R/T

difficulty: hard

where to meet meet at 8:15 a.m. leave for trailhead by 8:30/ in the shopping center parking lot at mountain and 16th/ i will have a meetup sign in my car window

whats the plan: this hike has no formal trail, it will be alot of bushwacking and scrambeling. the hike itself is only 1 mile one way. we will start at the south west turn out just below the first tunnel going up mt baldy rd. going down the hillside and onto old mt baldy rd, we will fallow this up stream about 150 yards and cross the stream, and then work our way up the hill towards the mine entrance. this will be all up hill lots of bushes, loose gravel, etc.

the mine only goes in a few 100 ft, with a few small chambers off to the side . the entrance is almost completely over grown and by next year wont be accessable,so dont miss your chance...

you will get bumps, bruises, cuts and scratches on this hike but it is so cool you gotta do it
