JPL will host a free screening of “The Stuff of Dreams” at Caltech’s Beckman Auditorium. The 90-minute documentary focuses on the challenges mission managers and JPL faced in developing and launching the twin Voyager spacecraft and operating them during the encounters with Jupiter and Saturn.
Recently, NASA announced that the Voyager 1 spacecraft, after some 35 years of operation by JPL in exploring our solar system, reached the space between the stars — the first time a human-made object has ever gone beyond the breath of our sun's wind.
Introductory remarks will be made by Blaine Baggett, JPL’s director for communications and education, who produced, directed and wrote the new film.
