When people turn away from religion, many feel that they have nothing to turn to when tradegy strikes.
Many may feel alone and unsupported as members of this group.
We intend to foster an atmosphere of love and support for one another in our quest to build a more caring community.
We will be exploring how nonviolent communication is intrinsic to effective management of thoughts and feelings.
Through a series of facilitated workshops we will explore how safety, trust and functional relationships can be developed and maintained to manage difficult situations.
This support group is available to Temecula Valley Atheists members and IEAA members.
The meeting will be facilitated by Walter Davis, a retired Navy navigator, missile engagement officer and group facilitation trainer with 27 years of group facilitation experience. Walter lost four of his shipmates during due to drug abuse during a wartime cruise to The Middle East. The Navy Department extended invites to people in all job categories to apply for group facilitation training to help assuage the tide of Navy veterans suffering from PTSD, addiction and other problems. He volunteered, completed training in Naval Base San Diego and his Internship at Naval Air Station Miramar. He went on to complete advanced group facilitator training and became a facilitator trainer. He has led support groups in The Middle East, South America, Asia, Europe and throughout the United States. Upon his retirement, HealthNet hired him to be a Treatment Center Supervisor where 44 counselors worked for him.
