He recently launched the cross-platform PvP mobile game Volley Village. His presentation will be "Mobile Games are Different Now". In addition to being an outspoken, award-winning advocate who serves in several advisory/board roles, she is a geographer, writer, and corporate strategist. Following 13 years at Microsoft, she has consulted on many game and non-game projects for BioWare, Google, Amazon, Facebook, and many other companies. Fortune magazine named her as one of the "10 most powerful women" in the game industry in 2013 and in 2014 was named by GamesIndustry.biz as one of their six People of the Year. In 2018, she was honored with Reboot Develop’s annual Hero Award and also presented with IndieCade’s annual Game Changer Award. Games; as well as running his own development studio, Serellan LLC, which shipped the Kickstarter funded Takedown: Red Sabre on PC and XBLA in 2013/2014, and an independently published Steam Early Access title, Epsilon, on Steam in late 2015.   • IGDA Las Vegas Workshop: Data-Oriented Games feat. Human Head

    In preparation for the first-ever Las Vegas Global Game Jam at the end of the month (held for free by the IGDA Las Vegas), Justin Terry of Human Head Studios is presenting the IGDA LV's first-ever design workshop, where he will present on Data-Oriented Game Design. The workshop will consist of a 1-hour presentation, including Q&A throughout. The remainder of the time will be a hands-on brainstorming, discussion, and application round-table, where you can take your ideas and try to identify sections of your game that could benefit from the structuring provided by data-oriented game design.

    The IGDA Las Vegas' first casual social event, featuring Smash Ultimate gameplay. This is not a tournament, but simply a casual event to play Smash like the party game it was designed to be. The event is free and open to everyone, but if anyone has a Nintendo Switch, copy of Smash Ultimate, and/or extra controllers to accommodate additional players, bringing these would be a huge help an greatly appreciated (especially extra controllers!).
