Chef & AWS OpsWorks- Evgeny Zislis

Location is ground floor on building 10 (the low building to the side of the tall building with the Ness logo at its top)

Note: the meetup date has changed (hopefully for the last time) to allow for more people to attend. We've raised the RSVP quota accordingly. Please update your RSVP if you're not going to attend

5:00-5:30 - Gathering

5:30 - Session start

A new service from Amazon called OpsWorks sets a much simpler application management in the cloud.

Learn how to use OpsWorks to deploy your applications, customize the Chef cookbooks to better fit your needs, and re-use OpsWorks in a non-AWS environment.

The talk includes a short introduction to OpsCode Chef, a feature review of AWS OpsWorks, a demo of deploying a simple application and finally an example of how OpsWorks can be customized in different ways by using attributes or even writing your own cookbooks.

Great intro to ops works. Loved the Lego characters throught the presentation. A demo of some sort was definitely in order but the buildup and level of experteize sufficed. Two thumbs up.

Clarification - it's NOT on floor 17. Its in the ground floor of building 10 which is the lower building to the side of the tall building with the Ness sign at its top.

Unfortunately no. There's a paid parking lot and I also think there's a public parking lot somewhere in the area.
