Join us for a talk by Dr. Thomas Mullaney of Stanford on issues of language and technology raised in his forthcoming book, The Chinese Computer: A Global History of the Information Age, Part II, to be published by MIT Press.
This is a continuation of his 2016 IMUG talk, The China i18n Challenge: Western #Fails in Type, Typewriters, & Computers, which drew from the first book in this two-volume study, The Chinese Typewriter: A Global History of the Information Age, Part I.
