With Tani Bahti, RN, CT
In her talk, Tani Bahti will help us overcome fears and misconceptions about the experience of dying, which impacts how we make decisions and provide care for people at this important time of life. By compassionately but frankly describing the natural physical changes that may accompany dying, we will better understand the wisdom of the body, how to manage the changes, and promote comfort. Issues of communication, closure and the mysteries such as the timing of death and visions are also explored.
Tani has promoted clinical training programs for the medical and nursing schools. She has written and produced the award-winning video, Living Through Dying – The Struggle for Grace. She is also the author of Dying to Know - Straight Talk About Death & Dying and producer of the Straight Talk Series on End of Life Issues. Through community collaboration, she continually seeks ways to improve how we talk about and prepare for dying. She is founder and executive director of Passages - Support & Education in End of Life Issues, providing compassionate guidance in end of life issues through support, education and research.
