2014 Winter Internet of Things Meetup

It's been waaay too long, so it's time to get together again in the new year!  2013 has been huge for the Internet of Things, and it looks like it's only getting bigger from here.  I can attest to this with the amount of attention, investors and customers my startup SensorSuite has been getting.

We get a great mix of engineers, entrepreneurs, designers, and hobbyists coming out, so come join us for beers, ideas, and great discussion.

We're currently looking for IOT startups to demo their stuff.  Please email me at [masked] if you're interested.

We'll be doing our Open Mic since it seems to be popular.  Anybody who wants to pitch to the crowd has 5 minutes to talk about their project or startup and take a few questions.

Stuff we talk about:

1) Wireless transmission technologies (zigbee, ip, bluetooth le)

2) Open Source Hardware (Arduino, Raspberry Pi, etc)

3) Hardware/Software connectivity techniques and software

4) Sensor technology

5) other cool stuff???

I'm currently working with all these technologies for SensorSuite so if you've got questions about any of the above I'll be glad to point you in the right direction for your own projects..

>>> Applications are open for startups looking to pitch their stuff to the crowd .. please contact me if you're interested in presenting!

Great turn out - I was near the back so it was hard to hear everything with such a big group. Loved the discussions in the social hour afterwards.

Free-Geek had the right idea of wearing Logoware, I am going to have to wear a T-shirt or hat next time so help people connect. Or maybe little signs to encourage people in various topics could congregate eg. Arduino, Wearable, IPO, etc

Congratulations on providing a valuable evening.

Anyone know when the open mic starts? Also, is there any food or should we grab that before?

Very excited about tonight, it's been a while!

Among other things my firm, Artemis BA, advises investors and entrepreneurs on Internet of Things. Very happy to talk to anyone today or any other time about developing your business idea or product, raising money, talking to investors, etc. I will be in a blue suit and pink shirt. Reach me any time at [masked]

I'll be down there tonight. I'd love to talk to anyone doing work with ... or just generally interested in ... Node, MQTT, Arduino or RaspberryPi. I've been doing some interesting work in this area.

What are the most elegant, simple and energy or water related IOT ideas out there?

    December 12, 2013

    • Dan W.

of course, the preceding is economically enabled by leveraging IP connectivity to thousands of carefully monitored refrigerators. Such monitoring is necessary to "prove" the exact source of the energy savings ("follow the money"). This sort of monitoring provides the accountability that all productive economies rely on for long term economic growth.

Dan, that is very interesting. Look forward to chatting about this today. If you have any additional thoughts/materials/research on this that you could share I would be very interested to read.

HEAT RECOVERY - ENERGY - WATER - BUILDINGS -HOMES
www.inventure.ca shows essentials of a safe, simple, low cost Drainpipe Heat Exchanger to recover waste heat. Patent will issue. Ontario allows such energy saving methods. Need strategic partner(s).
