Wednesday Crystal City Run: 50 min
NEW TIME: The time for this meetup has been moved back to 7:00PM for Spring and Summer. NEW LOCATION: Meet at the entrance of the trail, right across from 1750 Crystal Dr / Morton's Steakhouse. Link to location on map: http://i.imgur.com/3yN0lwN.jpg On Wednesday, let's meet at 6:50pm and do a 50 min run leaving at 7:00pm. You're welcome to do more if you'd like. Meeting Point: Meet at the entrance of the trail, right across from 1750 Crystal Dr / Morton's Steakhouse. Let's run on the Mt. Vernon Trail. Just before the run we decide whether we'll go NORTH (DC) or SOUTH (Old Town) on the trail. Once we're done, we meet back up at the Crystal City Water Park. All paces are welcome! We run by time, not speed so bring a watch to monitor your time and turn around at the halfway time point. If you need to run/walk, that's ok! We average anywhere between 7-13 minute/per mile pace. First Time? Start out slow to find someone around your pace. The different paces tend to automatically gather, so you won't be alone! Metro: Crystal City on Blue/Yellow lines, 2 blocks from metro exit. Post-Run: A lot of times we have a little social outing after the run. You can bring a change of clothes if you'd like (though most people just go as is). We'll finish up the run, meet back at the Water Park, pick up our wallets and walk to wherever we decided to go for drinks/dinner. If you have a suggestion for a place to check out, let us know!

What we're about

We are a group of runners in our 20's and 30's, with members ranging from beginner runners to those who have been running for years. Nothing like knowing others are waiting for you to make sure you go out and run! We are not competitive, regardless of pace (we have some very fast runners in the group, and very slow runners, and even if you can't run the whole thing, and need a walk break, it's ok). We always welcome new faces!

Our weekday runs are always by time, not distance, so that we can all begin and end together. Our long runs are on Saturday mornings, but there's always an option on running for time as well.

There are plenty of groups out there for competitive runners but not much for the runners who want a laid back environment to meet new friends, keep them motivated to run, and have company when training for a race (or run for other reasons -- personal goals? Weight Loss? Just because?).

If you want to have fun when you're running, and make some great new friends, this is the group for you!

The focus will be getting people who are committed to train together and motivate each other, no matter how slow or far you go at first. No need to be intimidated!

We also participate in many local races as a group (check out our calendar) -- it's always a blast! Running is a lot more fun in a group. We have trained together for the Shamrock Half Marathon, National Half, Cherry Blossom Ten Miler, VA Beach Rock n Roll Half Marathon, Army Ten Miler, Chicago Marathon and the Marine Corps Marathon.

We will also train together for this year's races!

Of course, you don't have to be running a race to join our training runs -- we just need the company to keep us motivated to start and finish each time!

The vast majority of the runs are in the Arlington area. Sometimes we grab a snack or coffee on those weekend morning runs and plan a happy hour (and occasional social events like BBQ) about once a month.
