One of the benefits of having the Microsoft Canada Head Office located in the GTA is that when people are in town to visit Microsoft, we can sometimes get them to speak to us. On the evening of May 23rd, IT Pro Toronto is fortunate to have Microsoft Most Valuable Professionals (MVPs) Dana Epp and Todd Lamothe available for a Special Meeting discussing Windows 8. Dana and Todd will deliver two very interesting presentations, followed by a Q&A session where you will have an opportunity to ask questions. As I'm sure you know, MVPs don't work for Microsoft. They are exceptional, independent community leaders who share their passion, technical expertise, and real-world knowledge of Microsoft products with others. This is your opportunity to hear about Windows 8 from the professionals who are actually working with it and deploying it in their organizations.
Our first presenter, Dana Epp, will cover Recovery and Security in Windows 8.
Description: In this session, learn how to better control, secure and manage Windows 8 PCs with Microsoft’s latest enhancements like BitLocker, Secure Boot and the Diagnostics and Recovery Toolset (DaRT). Learn how to create a secure WindowsToGo experience that allows you to have a personalized Windows 8 experience on almost any computer, even if it isn’t your own. And finally, learn how Security Auditing is greatly enhanced in Windows 8 to help monitor, troubleshoot and enforce compliance in a network.

His latest research has been on user authentication automation designed for practical use in small business. When he isn’t working or touring around the world speaking about information security you can find him having fun producing web-based TV shows like crackthecred.tv.
