Check out Pix from last year
So here is the plan
2:00 is listed as arrival. Parade to start at 2:30, . . . .
So getting there early give time to walk the lineup and to chat the those parading and costumed.
2:30 Parade starts
The event is hectic and chaotic as . . . there are lots of dogs and lots too see. Eye Candy ad every turn!!!
First of all . . You WANT or NEED to be there early. Parade starts at 2:30 and lasts about 1/2 hr.
It's short . . it's cute. It's all lots of fun.
So the way this one works is the listed address pretty much is the start point. The parade proceeds own the main park path and the entire length of this path people stand 2 to 4 people deep. If you are behind 4 people if you or the group move down farther you will find less people.
More people will be clumped closed to the start and closer to the middle where the judges tent is.
Instead of centralizing to one giant group of meetup this tends to be smaller bunches and that's the only way to move among the crowd and also the only way to secure space.
Use the message board to find our peeps. First read the board to see where people are congregating from the group. Second Post your exact location and time. Then check the board again. This is a larger outdoor public event. It's difficult to hold a spot a ahead of time. So this is very much a collaboration and not a "top down" event with a solo lead. It's many hosts or multi-hosted by those that take the initiative.
HAUTE DOG HOWL'OWEEN PARADE is to include more than 500 costumed dogs and a few thousand dogless gawkers. With Vendors, Pet Adoption Fair & Kids/Adults Costume Contest
World's largest Halloween pet event! And it's here right in our own backyard. We went as a meetup last year. . . . and now we are back to the cacophony !!! Even bigger, badder, and barkier than ever!!!
Marina Vista Park, corner of Colorado St. & Santiago Ave. (at the end of Marine Stadium; across from the fire station, by the tennis courts). The parade is on the concrete bike path that runs through the park from Colorado St. to Eliot St.
Haute Dogs is expected to again donate thousands of dollars to animal welfare programs from money raised. FREE to watch. (you know you like to watch . . .)
What? You want to be in the Parade?
You can register at the event for $20/dog with forms on-site.
There will be three food/drink vendors on-site.
Event t-shirt will be available for $7. (proceeds to Haute Dawg animals Charity)
Humans encouraged to wear costumes, too!
So here is the nitty gritty, . . . there is a row of white chairs that line the route. You can pay a few dollars to sit in those. (Money goes to Haute Dawg animals Charity)
