MORE DETAILS COMING SOON! The 2020 Ride will be held in downtown L.A.
EVENT INFO: https://wnbrla.com/ride-details
The event is free and very fun. All you need is a bike. You can rent them at several places near downtown. Last year people used the bikes from Uber, which works too.
Let's take a step back and address the "why". WHY RIDE? We are: ADVOCATING SUSTAINABLE ENERGY, ADVOCATING ENVIRONMENTALLY RESPONSIBLE LIVING, ADVOCATING SAFE, HUMAN POWERED TRANSPORTATION. IN OTHER WORDS: RIDE TO bring attention to this form of transportation so that people with automobiles learn to notice and recognize humans using natural human power as recreation or commuting transportation.
WHY RIDE NUDE? That's a good question!! NOTICEABILITY AND BODY POSITIVE VALUES IN OTHER WORDS: It has been proven over the years of bike ride events that NAKED HUMANS get noticed faster than clothed riders, this combined with the fact that the naked human is a natural body regardless to ethnicity, gender or body structure and is neither lewd nor inappropriate in a public place, therefore we have riders of all ages, ethnicities, genders and body structures that are comfortable riding for the cause.
Registration starts at 10:00. Ride starts at 11:00 and does a whole DTLA Loop. Meetup time set at 9:45. From 9 onwards to 11 there is body painting going on
You can ride topless, but you don't have to. It's best to wear underwear. Most people will topless though, including the the Meetup Event Host Lexine. There w ill be tons of food trucks there. I suggest bringing cash and a bike lock/chain.
The ride is escorted and protected by LAPD. There is no worry about anyone harassing us or being arrested or anything like that. It's totally legal!!
What does "registration" consist of? The registration process will be simple. They will verify that you have read the Bike Ride Rules that will be available at the table. They would appreciate a minimum $2 donation to cover this year’s expenses including motorcade officers. You will also have the option to donate more towards next year’s ride. You get a wristband and that's what you
Bike to or drive to, or uber down there. Only disrobe at the staging area after you get your wristband.
This vid shows the ride size at the start, and that it's not all just gratuitous nudity a well as giving an idea of scope and size.
Please remember on the day of the event, there will be a check in booth to receive a wristband. Wristbands identify our participants to LAPD so that riders that might get lost can be redirected to the group by officers without incident, and help our organizers to identify participants and keep people who aren't participants at a distance. Participants are not limited to bicycles, skateboards, skates, solar bikes, scooters, electric assisted bikes, are all acceptable. IF you have an alternative power mode of transportation and want to know if its allowable, please contact us prior to the ride for approval. NO fossil fuel powered vehicles are allowed except authorized support vehicles used to ensure your safety.
You are encouraged to RSVP now and you will get sure to get updates.
If you would like to host this event as the primary or as an additional Event Host . . . please message Mac and say you would like to Host.
