This peer to peer support group is for anyone living with chronic illness and the people who are in our lives, who we want to support us, but may not understand how to or the illness itself.
More than 133 million people in the US have one or more chronic illnesses and this number is increaseing daily expecting to grow to 157 million with 81 million having co-occurring or more than one. This projection is more than half of the US population. Currently 125 million people in the US have an “INVISIBLE ILLNESS “ meaning a chronic illness that’s not visible to others like lupus and fibromyalgia.
Heart disease, cancer, arthritis, and strokes are among the leading causes of disability and death in the US. Approximately 900 thousand Americans die every year prematurely from one or more chronic illnesses leaving many living with chronic illness facing life changing debilitating states of financial hardship, divorce / relationship strain, and frustration just to name a few.
