What we're about

***This private meetup group is for NHS Information Services Division staff and invitees only***

Our next meetup will be a workshop to help you in Developing an Idea (http://meetu.ps/e/G7yZ2/CNkj2/f). Watch this short video to find out what to expect...

In partnership with ISD, Product Forge is hosting a series of internal workshops and lunch-n-learns in anticipation of the Digital Health Product Forge - Europe's biggest health hackathon taking place in Edinburgh on the 21st-24th of February 2019.

This series of warm-up events will bring together those keen to understand how to develop great ideas and build data-driven digital products. We welcome ALL members of the ISD team, regardless of role, skill set or experience. Our minimum requirement is that you are motivated to make positive change!

We will be running three workshops before the Digital Health Product Forge - Lego Serious Play (August), Developing an Idea (November) and Prototyping an Idea (January). These workshops will help you identify areas where a new technical intervention could improve efficiency, create a better user experience and save time or money. Developing this insight into a well articulated product idea takes time, process and practice. Attend this series of workshops to learn some great tools and processes for turning your insights into ideas. Please try to attend all workshops in the series as they all compliment each other. That said, each workshop on its own will teach you valuable lessons, so if you need to miss one, there is no reason for you to miss another!

We will be hosting lunch-n-learns on the last Wednesday and Thursday of every month at both ISD Edinburgh and Glasgow respectively. These are very informal lunchtime gatherings for which you do not need to have attended any of the Idea Accelerator workshops; the workshops and lunch-n-learns are completely separate events with very different formats. Each month we will be setting some simple yet useful and insightful online and offline challenges to encourage and support you in thinking more like startup founders. Challenges such as attending a data-focused meetup or watching a video from the startup school series will give you a better understanding of how successful entrepreneurs think and what challenges they face. Subsequent lunch-n-learns will provide opportunities for everyone to discuss learnings from previous challenges, and for new challenges to be set. Attending all of the lunch-n-learns will give you the most value as they are designed to compliment each other, so if you attend one, try to attend all remaining sessions.
