Announcing a new Meetup for "Ideas that shaped history" discussion group!

What: Potluck/picnic in beautiful Garfield Park in South Pasadena!

When: Sunday, March 28,[masked]:30 PM

Where:
Garfield Park
Mission St & Park Avenue
Pasadena, CA 91030

?Ideas That Shaped History? discussion group is having a potluck/picnic in beautiful Garfield Park in South Pasadena!

Perhaps you wanted to attend a meeting before, but thoughts like: ?I don?t really know much about the topic? stopped you?

Or, maybe you?ve already enjoyed some of our meetings, but want more time to talk informally with other members of the group and get to know them better. Staying for 15 minutes after the meeting didn?t seem long enough?

Or perhaps you simply enjoy being outdoors in a beautiful place, in the company of intelligent people?

Well, here?s the event you?ve been waiting for!

This picnic will be in addition to (not instead of) our regular monthly discussion meetings. The official announcement for the April and May meetings will be posted shortly, but here?s a sneak preview: by consensus, the topic of discussion in April will be ?Witch Craze in Europe --15th through the 17th centuries?, and, in May, ?The history of American education from the Colonial Period to the present?.

Back to details of our potluck picnic:

Date: Sunday, March 28, 2010

Time: from 1:30 p.m. until the last person decides to leave.

Location: Garfield Park in South Pasadena, located at the corner of Mission St. and Park Ave. (see map here: http://www.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&q=mission+street+and+park+avenue+91030&ie=UTF8&ll=34.116495,-118.147745&spn=0.00819,0.0212&om=1 , then click on ?directions? and enter you?re starting point.)

There is no limit for the number of attendees. Feel free to bring your family, friends, significant others? Children are welcome.

Please bring a dish to share. It would be helpful if you let us know in advance what you are bringing (just to avoid having 10 bags of chips and 10 bottles of Coca-Cola). I (Alex, the organizer) will bring a salad (which has been praised by many of my friends for being delicious).

Note: The event will be canceled in case of rain.
