How Much Can We Actually Know? Discernment & The Balance Between Truth & Mystery

  • Aug 17, 2013 · 6:00 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

What is knowledge?  What is truth? How do we discern these from the freeway of information swirling around the internet?  Religion often seems to follow ancient dogma and tradition, how do we sort through that to find knowledge or truth?  Science, which we would expect to be the bastion of truth, frequently flip-flops back and forth on itself, whether you're trying to determine the mass of an atom, or seeking to understand how the dinosaurs died off.

It seems at times that attempting to quantify anything can drive one to madness.  So why do we try?  What's the purpose?  How far down that road can we even get, or should we even try?

As usual, we're coming at this head-on.  We welcome opposing views, we WANT people to disagree with us.  Poke holes in our theories, bring your best discussion to the table.  Friendly discussion about big topics.  Join us!

We limit attendance to 15 people so that the discussion group dynamic doesn't become too large for our venue or for our time frame, so please don't RSVP unless you're sure you are coming!  AND - If you RSVP and your plans change, please be polite and change your RSVP online so that others can take your place.  See you soon!

Mostly it is the great group of thinkers that have come together to share and grow.

(I believe) It was an AMAZING discussion - loved hearing the different insights and experiences. Came away with some great thoughts and a positive outlook. I love this group - and that's the truth (in my humble opinion) ;)
