BREAK OUT YOUR FLASHLIGHTS, FLASHES and LAZER POINTERS- IT'S TIME FOR A SUMMER NIGHT OF PHOTOGRAPHY FUN!
This is a very popular photo workshop that bears repeating. Once again we will be lighting up the night sky and getting playful with our cameras
Painting with light is a photographic technique where you illuminate parts of your scene with an artificial light source (flashlights, flood light, electronic flash, etc…) to add emphasis and color to otherwise dark scenes. It builds upon night and low light photography skills and provides the photographer a whole new range of options for creative photography.
Light Painting and Light writing (light graffiti) are similar techniques and we will cover both methods/approaches to creative image making. Plan on lots of experimentation and fun shooting with this type of photography.
We will meet on the top level (roof deck) of the Nashua Municipal Parking Garage on High Street in downtown Nashua, NH. This workshop is a combination of instruction and field photography (hands on shooting). We will spend 30 to 45 minutes reviewing techniques and then we will get on to some shooting. This location and the surrounding urban environment has plenty of photographic potential, especially as we move from twilight to darkness.
In addition to your camera you will need a sturdy tripod and an inventory of artificial light sources for this workshop. I will send out a suggested equipment list prior to the workshop so you will know what to bring..
