If you had a New Year's Resolution to get healthier, reduce stress, or just try something new, come out and join a meditation class at the Healing Triad.
One hour classes are offered once a month. No registration is required and the cost is $5.
I have not tried meditation before so I'm guessing you just need to wear comfortable clothes and be prepared to sit on the floor. Show up a few minutes early, the class starts at 10:30.
I called the Healing Triad - prior to the class we need to fill out the Yoga Release form. You can print it out here: http://www.thehealingtriad.com/beta/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/HATHA-YOGA-RELEASE-FORM.pdf or show up a few minutes early to fill it out there. Because we need to fill these out, I changed the start time to 15 minutes earlier.
Also, no shoes are allowed in the studio so wear heavy socks or bring slippers.
After the class, we can walk over to Roosters for breakfast/lunch - posted as a separate event.
From the Healing Triad website:
It is the belief at The Healing Triad Yoga Studio that instruction in meditation should be made practical and user friendly. It should not be the intention of the beginner to empty his mind of all thoughts, but to learn to watch the thoughts, to be the silent observer. The techniques are simple for meditating, it’s finding the time and sticking to a regular practice that seems daunting in our busy times. Classes are offered in meditation to provide easy, practical techniques that can bring you back to your center, calm your mind and even lower your blood pressure.
