For those of us who like to volunteer here is an opportunity to assemble care packages that will be sent to cancer patients at neighborhood hospitals.
"Phil’s Friends brings hope through the distribution of our hand assembled Care Packages to cancer patients and their families, consistent weekly support through Cards of Hope and prayer."
Here is their site for more information:
Our scheduled time is 12pm-2:00pm and we must be on time because we will need to make sure we are registered before we can start.
All volunteers must fill out a volunteer form before we can participate, You can either print it out and complete it then bring it with you or you can fill it out online (Here is the link, make sure to scroll to the bottom of the page to see both links):
"We are located on the side of the Roselle Bank Building (in the strip mall). You'll want to park in the parking lot behind Thorntons gas station and come in through the side glass doors. The cross street is Bryn Mawr. Look for our Phil’s Friends sign!"
For those of you who feel extra charitable Phil's Friends can always use donations, here are some of things they could use:
Money in any denomination
Lotion- fragrance free 5oz or smaller
Hats- crocheted, knit, baseball, etc.
Tissue Packs- small ones that can be thrown in your purse or pocket
Fleece or Crocheted throws /lap blankets
Remember these patients have very weak immune systems so anything we give them must be new, unopened or wrapped in packaging not hand me downs or second hand items.
See you there!
