What we're about

Why we started:

DJ and I formed this group on 28.05.18. It is different, in that it aims to be serve the local community by offering activities, and events for people of all ages and abilities, in and around Stamford and Rutland.

This group is for people above the age of 18. Members can bring guests under the age of 18 to events suitable for their age, but must be responsible for them. When applying to join you must use a profile picture that enables us to recognise you at events and that profile picture remains in place. Your application will be refused if we cannot see who you are.

Our philosophy:

This group will serve the whole community, but more importantly, is a safe, fun, and exciting place to share good times with like minded people.

Our goals:

We wish to grow In and Around PE9 into a group that offers a range of social activities, sporting activities, well being and fitness, day trips, short breaks, theatre, music, crafting, cooking, fundraising events, the possibilities are endless.

We would like to empower our members to participate in events as hosts or members, and the development of In & Around PE9. You will see above the discussion menu to set up and participate in forums and start discussions. Next to discussions you will see an option more, there is a drop down selection for message board. Please do use these, to communicate with each other and to myself DJ, and the PE9 team.

How you can participate:

We would love to have as many event hosts as possible to run events in and around Stamford and Rutland. No idea will be dismissed, and we welcome all members to take as active a role as they wish.

As mentioned above we are an open and inclusive group, and welcome all feedback on the group, events, and site. We will organise regular emails to update you on events and ideas. We will also organise regular meetings at venues in and around Stamford and Rutland.

If after six months of membership you have not attended events. You are applicable to be removed from the group. The reason for this is for administration purposes.

Keeping events safe for all:

This group will not tolerate any form of harassment to members attending our events. Harassment includes offensive verbal comments related to gender, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, religion, sexual images in public spaces, deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of talks or other events, inappropriate physical contact, unwelcome sexual attention, and unwelcome messaging. Disrupting events on purpose by undermining the event host’s management of the event will not be tolerated. The person acting this way will be asked to stop and is expected to comply immediately.

If anyone engages in harassing behaviour, event organisers may take any action they deem appropriate, including warning the offender of permanent expulsion from the group with no refund (if applicable).

If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please alert the event organiser immediately.
