Triangle USA Monthly Ballroom Dance 3rd Sat Nights in Raleigh
The monthly third Saturday Triangle USA Dance is a great place to meet people and practice your ballroom dancing. We recommend ballroom casual dress. No partner is necessary. Admission: $10 •7:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Free lesson with paid $10 admission •8:00 pm to 11:00 pm Open Social Dance Triangle USA Dance brings in local dance instructors each month to teach different aspects of ballroom dancing. They post who is teaching on their website, but plans can change at the last minute, so please do check their website for last minute changes . Even if you know how to dance, we recommend you attend the lesson. It's a great way to get to meet the other dancers as everyone rotates partners frequently during the lesson. And that gives you more opportunities to dance when the open dancing starts. Later in the evening, they often do a dance mixer as well. There are usually soft drinks and light snacks available at the dance at no extra charge. The dance is held in a large meeting room at the church, with chairs lining the outside walls, and the floors are tile over concrete. The music is a mix of dance styles and they usually have a printed list of the songs that will be played in order and the recommended ballroom dance for the song. (The mix usually includes Cha Cha, Tango, Rumba, Night Club Two Step, Waltz, East Coast Swing, West Coast Swing, Samba, etc). They also offer a pretty good explanation of ballroom dance floor etiquette that defines terms like "line of dance" on their website. This is the local chapter of the national USA Dance group. You can join Triangle USA Dance and get discounts on local dances and dances put on by sister groups in other cities. Again, more information is available on their website at (

What we're about

In the Mood to Dance is THE Meetup for everyone interested in social dancing in the Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill area. We strive to connect our dancers with all the social dances and reputable dance teachers in the Triangle for a wide variety of dance styles. We promote social dancing in all its forms, from partnered dances like ballroom and swing, to solo dances like hip-hop and line dance. All levels of dancers are welcome! We want to ensure the best dance experience possible, from a couple learning a first dance for their wedding all the way to competitive dancers, in classes, lessons, performances or the social dance floor. We personally attend many of these dances ourselves, so please do come dance with us!
