Join us on an excursion into computer graphics on the web with 3D portraits that we make of ourselves. With just a camera, free software and some JavaScript, we’ll be covering just how easy the process is to get a 3D scan of our subject and prepare that to something WebGL can display in the browser. We'll cover how to take pictures, where to generate a point cloud, how to extract a 3D mesh, and finally how we can import that into the browser using a format called glTF. We’ll learn a little about GLSL, and WebGL API as well as the 3D libraries that exist today.
