What we're about

Inclusive Monroe is a social group based on celebrating diversity of all kinds. We seek to build a community that welcomes all ages, races, socio-economic levels, neurotypes, genders, sexual orientations, disabilities, philosophies, religions, cultural backgrounds, and all types of fellow humans who desire to connect with kindness, respect, and authenticity.

The anchor events are twice a month on Sunday afternoons. WISH was the acronym that felt right for these events: Welcoming, Inclusive Social Hangouts. All my life, I (Robin) have wished to belong to healthy communities where it’s ok to be a bit different. The star imagery represents wishing on all the stars: constellations as communities, nebulae as the promise of creativity, and a supernova as the hope for a wiser and kinder society being born. As the saying goes, we are the ones we’ve been waiting for, not some larger-than-life celebrity. Local gatherings of neighbors who share their lives and dreams, who play and work together, can turn their worthiest wishes into reality. A constellation sparks more than even the brightest star.

Anyone who attends in person and wants to help create this community is invited to become an event organizer. All event organizers are welcomed and encouraged to create new events as they wish, so folks can attend as they are interested and able.
