BANGKOK DANGEROUS

Twin brothers Danny and Oxide Pang may have become lost to a string of fairly forgettable Hong Kong genre films in the past decade, but the one-two punch of their first features, Bangkok Dangerous and The Eye remain potent calling cards – so much so that both were later remade by Hollywood.

Pawalit Mongkolpisit plays a deaf-mute hit-man in Bangkok who falls for a tender shop-girl and begins to suffer the consequences of a life of murder. The directors’ verve and editing skills belie the picture’s low-budget independent origins, and serve up a refreshing reminder of the heady days of CGI-free gunplay.

'CGI-free gunplay'. If you would like to experience the thrill of 'CGI-free gunplay', feel just as CGI-free to join me for this. I will be waiting outside in the smoking area until a few minutes before the film. I have long dark hair, will probably be both wearing dark glasses and drinking latte. Jennifer, 0879616576.
