New Year, IWUG is back! - SCCM
Dear IWUG’rs Happy New Year. Surprise! we are back after a long break in our regularly scheduled programming. In this ever changing landscape of technologies and priorities that we operate within, we’ve had to rethink how we can share learnings, best practices and our collective knowledge. IWUG has never been about the organization or to drive an agenda, but more for the users and our community that we have always been involved in. Cloud technologies over the past few years have been disrupting our organizations, our jobs and most importantly the methods we have used in the past to disseminate learnings and share information. There are many ways that we can each individually get information and product specific knowledge compared to when IWUG was first kicked off in 2002. Its amazing that its been 16 years since IWUG was first launched by like minded people to create a community. As our New Year’s resolution for 2018, we wanted to commit to reactivating this group and help provide the support needed for it to go forward if YOU would commit to engage, support and help rebuild this IWUG community that we have collectively invested in these past 16 years. The goal is able to do monthly meetings on the 3rd Wednesday of every month. Here’s the information you need to join us on Feb 21st 2018. Topic: System Center Configuration Manager(SCCM). If you manage desktops and servers, it’s still a hassle to manage thousands of devices at a time. There needs to be a better way to keep the lights on and to handle the daily request grind. Configuration Manager primarily handles software, updates, and Operating System installation. With the rest of the System Center suite, you can add more business-friendly actions. Things like: • Reimage your PC (Backup and restore!) • Schedule your own Windows 10 upgrade (popular for migrations!) • Unused software reclamation (confirms with the user for you!) • Request licensed software (complete with approvals!) In this presentation, you will learn the capabilities of automation to effectively manage your infrastructure and spend more time on business optimization instead of tickets. Speaker: Mark Mikula is a Solution Architect with over a decade of experience in enterprise-level deployment and migration projects. Mark specializes in systems management, private/public cloud architecture, and automation. His skills include IT service management, enterprise strategy, and infrastructure design. Agenda: 5:30 - 6:00 Pizza / Social Time 6:00 - 6:15 Introduction/ IWUG Announcements / Speaker Intro 6:15 - 7:30 Event Presentation 7:30 - 7:45 Q&A / WrapUp
