Bring your mat, come as you are, and join me at The Green House's warm, art-filled space for free, friendly yoga. Meditation follows yoga after a brief tea break. We usually disperse by 10:45am.
I lead a supportive, light-hearted class that encourages experiment and exploration. In this room, you are an explorer among friends. Through postures, we practice noticing subtle things, like sensations in the body (weight balance, tension, compression, stretch), the effects of breath, and what you're thinking and feeling at any given moment. This has been my yoga teaching style since I started in 2013.
Yes, the class is free. I offer this class as a gift to all. Please consider donating to Second Helpings and helping them transform lives in Indianapolis through the power of food. Their volunteers prepare over 4,000 hot meals a day from donated fresh food and deliver those meals at no charge to over 80 local agencies.
Who is Tony?
I'm a guy from Indiana who enjoys being in nature, talking to strangers, and understanding how my mind works. I enjoy helping people learn how their minds work and demystifying mindfulness tools and techniques. Including this class, I teach three yoga classes and lead four meditations each week. I've been teaching yoga since 2013. I obtained my RYT-200 yoga teacher certification at Peace Through Yoga Eagle Creek in 2013 and taught there for 1 year.
I first caught the teaching bug when I was in graduate school at IU-Bloomington (MS Organic Chemistry). From[masked], I taught three semesters and three summer sessions of organic chemistry labs and ran discussion sessions in organic chemistry. I tutored several members of the women's cross country team and the football team during that time also. From[masked], I volunteered at the Lafayette Adult Resource Academy, where I helped people with their english language skills, basic math skills, and prepare for the US citizenship test.
