Tell us a little about your writing career.

Most of my experience is with short stories, especially YA fiction and satire. I wrote a language-and-world-domination column for my college paper called Word Warlord. I have too many unfinished novels.

Who are your literary influences?

Terry Pratchett, Willa Cather, Elizabeth Goudge, Jane Austen

What do you hope to gain from our monthly workshop?

Community, making time to write, sparking new ideas together

My happy childhood gave me false expectations for the rest of life and an appreciation for treehouses, foreign languages, and John Wayne. I was writing stories and leading peasant uprisings by the age of eight. I haven't improved.
