Venteux Vineyards Tasting at Gourmet Dining Room

Taste the luscious Rhone varietals from Venteux Vineyards' head-trained, dry-farmed, estate vineyards in the Templeton Gap of Paso Robles. Their 100% natural,  small-lot, handcrafted wines will impress you! Winemaker and proprietors Scott and Bobbi Stelzle will make this event memorable.

We'll be in the Gourmet Dining Room at the School of Culinary Arts at SBCC. Light appetizers will be paired with the wines.

Scott and Bobbi will be pouring:

2012 Venteux Fleur Blanc, Paso Robles: Venteux Vineyard's sole white wine is a Rhône blend of 70% Viognier, 25% Grenache Blanc, and 5% Marsanne. This fresh white opens up with a citrusy pear nose and is followed by dry peachy notes, honeysuckle, and crisp green apple.  200 case production (usual retail $26)

2010 Venteux Grenache, Paso Robles -- 90 POINTS! -- Steven Tanzer: This 100% Grenache is a blend of three Westside Paso Vineyards: Starr Ranch, Rolph, and Neveridle. Each brings its unique terroir into play in this delicious wine. With medium weight and texture, it’s very satisfying with a creamy nose, and laden with spice and strawberry shortcake. 318 case production (usual retail $34)

2010 Venteux Farmhouse Cuvée GSM, Paso Roble: This blend of Grenache, dry-farmed Estate Syrah and Mourvèdre is a testament to Venteux's passion for Châteauneuf-du-Pape. This rendition is ruby red, with an intricate nose of lavender, strawberry, black cherry, fig, sage, sandalwood and cloves. The velvety palate is rich and smooth, framed by pleasantly soft tannins.  233 case production  (usual retail $35)

2010 Venteux “Tache le Verre” Syrah, Santa Barbara: This Syrah from Alisos Canyon Vineyard always impresses, and the 2010 vintage is our favorite yet! With an opaque purple color and velvet texture, aromas of black cherry, anise and Granddad's pipe-tobacco jump from the glass. Bold flavors of cocoa, sweet black currant, lavender and hints of red licorice come together with nice acidity and earthiness on the palate.  235 case production  (usual retail $38)

2010 Venteux Cabernet Sauvignon, Paso Robles --90 POINTS! -- Wine Enthusiast:  Yielding from three unique Westside Paso Robles Vineyards; Adelaida Springs, Chelle Mountain and Starr Ranch, this Cab has been described as "soft and lush with cherry, red currant and anise flavors that linger long into a spicy finish. It gains extra points for the tannin-acid structure, which is so easy to like". Delicious now, but will cellar beautifully for 3 years or more.  376 case production  (usual retail $48)

The catering chefs and students of the School of Culinary Arts will be present appetizers to nibble with our wines. Please join us in the John Dunne Gourmet Dining Room at Santa Barbara City College!

So fun to hang with old friends and meet a bunch of new ones. Had a lot of laughs at our table! And of course the wine and food were great. All for $18, can't believe it. Thanks :)

    Everything Tama does is great!

Since wine and art go together, I am inviting you all to my workshop on June 22nd via my meetup group Socialize Through Art Therapy. At this workshop, you can enjoy a wonderful afternoon experiencing art activities while getting to know others and yourself better. Warmly, Arden Rose. Best-Arden
