We meet from 7:00- 8:30 pm every Monday night to practice meditation in the Buddhist tradition. Our meditation style is 'Vipassana' which is also known widely as Mindfulness Meditation. Typically, our Monday group numbers between 25-35 meditators, although many regulars do not use Meetup to RSVP.
We have a 40 minute silent sit with a brief guidance in Mindfulness practice at the beginning and guided 'Metta' (Lovingkindness practice) at the end, followed by a dharma talk (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dharma_talk) and facilitated discussion on the Buddha dharma and its relevance to our meditation and daily life practice.
Our Monday night sit is freely offered and our group is supported entirely by donation or 'Dana', which is the Buddhist Pali term for generosity; the teachings of the Buddha have been supported for over 2500 years by the tradition of Dana.
