We're teaming up with our good friends @igerssurrey for #wwim11 and meeting up in Richmond - now well and truly part of Greater London but historically part of the County of Surrey.
We are meeting outside Richmond station (Zone 4) (well served by mainline trains from Waterloo, The District Line and London Overground) then heading off on a photowalk including Richmond Green, Riverside, Ham House and King Henry's mound with its protected sight line to the Dome of St Paul's then to The Terraces and stunning views to the west over Surrey.
As usual we will end up in a pub at the end of the walk.
We recommend sturdy footwear as the paths along the Thames and through Richmond Park can be muddy. The route also involves some steep climbs and steps and some narrow and uneven paths. The full route is also about 4.5km long. We have an alternative route plan in the event of flooding along The Thames in Richmond.
You might want to bring some snacks and water (or a hipflask...) and if you want to go into Ham House (garden and below stairs only) the entry fee is £4.50.
We look forward to seeing you for #wwim11richmond
