This is a networking group for practitioners and friends in the NC Triangle area interested in connecting, supporting, and educating one another on integrative medicine, holistic health, and wellness related topics.
“Awareness through movement” is the theme that characterizes the therapy created by Moshe Feldenkrais. This approach attempts to “better integrate the connections between mind and body” and to “relinquish habitual movement patterns that cause or contribute to chronic pain.”
In the presentation (Intro class) we will learn about the Feldenkrais Method through both discussion and experiential movement.
Open to any level of experience (including those who are new to Feldenkrais). The one pre-requisite is to be able to get up and down from the floor without the use of a support, i.e., on your own power. We will be doing mat work.
DEBORAH GROSS, LMBT, certified Feldenkrais Practitioner, has been a licensed massage therapist since 1982. She became certified in the Feldenkrais Method in 2011 and has been teaching classes at the Chapel Hill-Carrboro YMCA since 2015. In her private practice she combines elements from massage modalities, Feldenkrais and osteopathic techniques. Deborah specializes in low back pain and shoulder issues, both chronic and acute.
