  • Yay for May! A Day of Play with InterPlay in Chicago!

    Ravenswood Presbyterian Church

This day of InterPlay will offer something for everyone - from 1st timers to experienced InterPlayer with many years of involvement. It will be held in the Ravenswood neighborhood of Chicago at a venue where Chicago InterPlay is normally held. . The details of this day of play is still being worked out. Details will be added as they become available. But there will likely be morning and afternoon sessions. You can attend the morning, afternoon, or both. . As with most InterPlay events the event will be facilitated and allow ample time for informal conversation. The role of a facilitator is to introduce a variety of short activities that involve sharing stories or doing movement. . Each of the activities is designed to give participants a lot of freedom to do them however they like. The activities are relatively short and easy to do. We like to say anybody and everybody can do them. In its 30 years of InterPlay this is consistently shown to be true event after event. . InterPlay allows you to start with what you already know and do. You already have much to talk about based on your life experiences. And you have spent your entire life moving your body to do all the daily things you do everyday. You can choose to do the activities the way you normally express yourself in everyday life. You can lightly play around with how you do things in the moment. You can also be as adventurous as they care to be. InterPlay is all about choices. And you get to decide what you wish to do within the activities and how you decide to do them. No special skills are required to check it out and get started. . Now is a great time to check out InterPlay in Chicago. You'll find that many other people besides yourself will be discovering it and trying it out for their first times. And you'll be also trying it out along with others across the country and increasingly around the world (North America, Australia, Africa, India, and Europe). . Master InterPlay Teacher Jane Siarny will bring her 30 years of InterPlay participation and facilitation to this day of play. Jane will be accompanied by Indiana InterPlay Facilitator Marcia Smith-Wood. You can learn more about Jane here: http://interplay.org/index.cfm/go/leaders:bio/leader_id/2/ . . We hope you can come to this special event. Also, consider getting your first InterPlay experience at the April session of IntroPlay (Introduction to InterPlay). That session is on April 13th from 1:00-2:30 pm in the Ravenswood neighborhood of Chicago. You can find out more about that event at: https://www.meetup.com/InterPlayChicago/events/259265054/ . We hope to meet you or continue to get to know you better in April and/or May!

  • THE UNBELIEVABLE BEAUTY OF BEING HUMAN: 4PM PERFORMANCE

The Unbelievable Beauty of Being Human (UBBH) will be created in the moment by combining storytelling, movement and vocalizations. InterPlay uses the stuff of our lives as its content. We create songs, dances, stories and sometimes various combinations of all of these things on the spot and in the moment. Age of performers will range from high school students through performers 60+. All have a background and training in InterPlay tools and practices.
